THIS WEEK'S JOB // Open the case (with your eyes) and learn what each part actually does. (Book pages 26-31 in Mrs. Gaiser's book.)
THE THREE IDEAS
The brain and the memory
The CPU does the thinking; RAM is its scratch paper. Turn the power off and the scratch paper is wiped, which is why saving exists.
Storage is the filing cabinet
Drives keep files when the power is off. Your website will live as files on a drive before it ever lives on the web.
Input, output
Keyboards and mice go in, screens and speakers come out. A browser is just a very fancy output for files you write.
ON YOUR LOT
Sketch the path your keystroke takes from the keyboard to the screen, using the parts named in the book.
