THIS WEEK'S JOB // Sketch where everything on your page will live before a single tag gets typed. (Book pages 56-69 in Mrs. Gaiser's book.)
THE THREE IDEAS
Header, content, footer
Almost every page is a sign at the top, stuff in the middle, and fine print at the bottom. Boring? No. Reliable. Visitors know where to look.
Wireframes are pencil, not paint
Boxes and labels, no colors, no fonts. A wireframe answers where, so later the code only has to answer how.
Design for the visitor
Your favorite thing goes where visitors look first only if it is also their favorite thing. The layout serves them.
ON YOUR LOT
Wireframe your shop's home page on paper: header, three content areas, footer. Label every box.
